Shenzhen is a big Chinese city located in the south of the country, near the border with Hong Kong. It is built at the mouth of the Pearl River, on the coast of the South China Sea. This is a relatively young and most actively developing megalopolis of the Middle Kingdom. In the world, Shenzhen is perceived as an economic miracle. Winters are mild and a coat may be required on occasions, but the temperature rarely dips too low (never below 10 degree Celsius). Summer days fluctuate between blue skies and downpours, with temperatures usually maxing out at around 35 degrees Celsius. Shenzhen has a long mild summer and short relatively warm winter, making the city comfortable all year-round.

Life in Shenzhen for a student costs an average of 25,000 RMB a year, which is about 2,000 per month. This should be enough for a tasty and varied meal, clothing, and entertainment. In many places, such as nightclubs, foreigners can not only have free entertainment, but also get free drinks.
